Over in the USA, over 350,000 hoodies have been withdrawn from sale following the death of a three-year-old boy who died when his hoodie drawstring got caught on a playground set.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission agency said the drawstrings should be removed immediately.

The sweatshirts, Kid Pullover Hood Sweatshirt and Kid Zipper Sweatshirt with Hood, were made by Hill Sportswear Inc. of Paramount, California.

The Kid Pullover Hood has a flat drawstring at the neck, one middle front pocket and fleece lining. The hooded Zipper children’s sweatshirt has a rounded drawstring, two front pockets, and fleece lining.

The hoodies were sold at small retailers in California and Texas from August 1999 to Feburary 2009 for about $8 US each.

Retailers or Hill Sportswear will provide a full refund.
